Richa Ghosh: Dropped from Team India, Richa Ghosh will now make a splash in The Hundred tournament to be held in England. He signed a contract with London Spirit. Richa Ghosh will be the third Indian cricketer to participate in the 100-ball tournament after Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur.
Georgia Redmayne Was Replaced
The youngster has been selected in the London Spirits squad instead of Australia’s Georgia Redmayne. Smriti Mandhana was retained by Southern Braves and Harmanpreet Kaur was retained by Trent Rockets. Richa Ghosh has this great opportunity to return to Team India. If he does well in The Hundred tournament, the young RCB wicketkeeper may return to the national team.
Richa Ghosh is a flop in the Women’s Premier League
Hailing from West Bengal, 19-year-old wicket-keeper batsman Richa Ghosh’s Women’s Premier League 2023 was a flop. He scored just 138 runs in eight matches at an average of 23.00 and a strike rate of 135.29. His highest score was 37 for Royal Challengers Bangalore. This is why he is also running outside Team India.
1.9 crore earned in women’s IPL
Richa Ghosh will get 12500 Euros (approx. Rs. 13 Lakhs) for being a part of Lander Spirit in The Hundred Tournament. The player was roped in by RCB for Rs 1.9 crore in the very first season of the Women’s IPL held in India. But he could not live up to the expectations.
Team India is currently on a tour of Bangladesh. Richa Ghosh was not selected for this series. The selectors have relied on Yastika Bhatia, who was impressed with her performance in WPL 2023, to replace him. Uncapped Assamese batsman Uma Chhetri has been picked as Yastika’s back-up wicket keeper.
