Review (Happy Family Season 1 Total Episode List)
Happy Family: Conditions Apply took a dig at bulls right from its pilot episode. Aadhaar wastes no time in introducing all the main characters and dives into the Dholakia family – Daringbaaz or Hemlata (Ratna Pathak Shah), her peaceful husband Masukhlal (Raj Babbar), their son Ramesh (Atul Kulkarni), who is a The family pharmacy is owned by Chaalan and his selfie-obsessed wife Pallavi (Ayesha Jhulka). The third generation of this Gujju family consists of Aayushi (Sanah Kapoor), her brother Sanjay (Raunak Kamdar), and his wife Tisca (Meenal Sahu). And the center of attention is his son Aryan (Ahan Sabu), the first of the fourth generation. They are not a perfect family, but dysfunctional like any other family. It adds to the appeal of the show.
The writing by Aatish Kapadia (who also made ‘Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai’ and ‘Khichdi’) is layered and reminiscent of his earlier works. It would not be wrong to say that it is a mash-up of their previous shows, with the same wit and quirky characters that serve as the strength of the show. No dialogue is extraordinary; Rather, they are worldly, which makes them all the more relatable. And each episode brings a new challenge for the Dholakia family, keeping you hooked on their story.
The comic timing of the star cast is amazing as we have seen in shows like ‘Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai’ and ‘Khichdi’. Ratna Pathak Shah’s character as Hemlata Dholakia is the opposite of her classy Maya Sarabhai. She plays the character of a cool baa who is always ready with lewd comments on almost anything. He can also drink cold beer, but he can’t eat onions because they’re sticky. Raj Babbar plays the family peacemaker with ease. Atul Kulkarni initially appears as a misfit, but he blends in as the story progresses. Ayesha Jhulka is comfortable playing the roles of a responsible daughter-in-law, wife, mother, and grandmother. Sana Kapoor is incredible. Raunak Kamdar and Meenal Sahu both put up commendable performances.
However, while the humor is on point and the actors are clearly enjoying themselves, ‘Happy Family: Conditions Apply’ doesn’t go beyond its basic premise and is somewhat limited as a result. At least, that’s what the first four episodes available for review suggest. But one thing remains constant: The jokes keep going until the final frame.
Overall, this family comedy is a light-hearted, entertaining watch that will undoubtedly make you laugh out loud.
